Stav – a Norwegian family transmitted system of warriorship
which is concerned with training in the classical weapons (not empty hand),
breath practice, healing, etc. this type of martial art is suitable to all ages
and physical conditions. It is not competitive and there is no contact.
Dragon Style Gong Fu – This is a Chinese martial art
developed 400 years ago by a famous woman named Wu Mei. It mostly emphasizes
empty hand technique. It trains the body in unique ways to generate speed and
power without developing gross musculature, training also includes meditation,
martial qi gong (breath practice), healing of fractures, sprains and strains
with bone setting, massage and herbs.
Catch Wrestling – This is the premier style of martial
wrestling (submission grappling) which came over from England to the USA in
the 1700’s and was refined in the states in the late 1800’s early
1900’s. This is mixed freely with “Kushti” – the martial
wrestling tradition of India. Most of the conditioning exercises used in the
training sessions come directly from the powerful yoga systems developed by
the Indian wrestlers.
