My name is a conjunction of two Sanskrit words – Kama and Ishvari. You may recognize the former from the title of a notorious text. When my teacher gave me this name he explained there are two ways of understanding its meaning. The first is very surface and cute, like a cupid, or the Goddess of Love. But the deeper Tantrik understanding is the embodiment of objectless desire. My aim in working with this name is to express the self-arising desire or passion of life itself without entanglement in objects. In other words, to be engaged fully in the world without any attachment. This is definitely a work in progress!
